What is KoR Whitening?

KoR Whitening is one of the best products on the market, specifically developed to help improve the shade and color of your teeth.

How does Kor Whitening Work?

It works by bleaching the tooth according to the preferred shade. This allows teeth to undergo whitening treatments while still appearing natural.

What is the process like?

There are 4 tiers of service for KoR Whitening, and depending on the shade, the improvements can vary.

  • First Tier: 2 week at-home
  • Second Tier: 2 week at-home + 1-hr in-office
  • Third Tier: 4 week at-home + 1-hr in-office
  • Fourth Tier: 8 week at-home + 1-hr in-office

The process includes fabricating custom trays to be worn at home for 1-hr at a time to do preliminary bleaching of your teeth

Eventually after the at-home care is completed, you return to the office for a 1-hr treatment in the chair using a specific process to brighten and whiten your teeth.

The “Process”

  1. Fabricate Custom Retainers
  2. 2/4/8 Week At-Home Bleaching Process
  3. 1 Hr In-Office Bleaching Process

Why KoR Whitening over Zoom?

KoR whitening does not require the use of curing light. This approach is a much more effective process, with less reactivity and sensitivity. KoR whitening provides longer-lasting whitening with less time between treatments to re-whiten.

FAQs

  • Is whitening with KoR Whitening Permanent?
    • No, like all products in the market, whitening is not a permanent solution and does require 6 months of frequency to re-whiten dentition. However, it is noted that KoR has had markedly more effective long term results which in turn means less time having to re-whiten in between visits.
  • Can Whitening hurt?
    • Sometimes. Whitening uses a very strong bleach to bring back the youthful white appearance of teeth. This reagent is very powerful and can sometimes cause a “burn” on the gums if it comes in contact with it. It is important to know that this is a side effect of the process but it is not permanent. This slight discomfort will go away over time, and a quick call to Dr. Vuong / Dental Oasis of Orange County and we can provide next steps to help with healing process.
  • Should I avoid coffee, tea, soda, or other foods and beverages?
    • Yes, definitely for the first 24-72 hrs, it is very important to avoid drinking coffee and tea as they can re-stain and essentially discolor your teeth once again.
    • Proper OHI and at-home care is important to maintain longevity of color.
